Joan Detyna

Joan Detyna has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. For the past nine years she has worked as an industry consultant specializing in microbiology quality control and assurance and cGMP training and compliance. Joan has extensive experience as an educator and trainer and has developed and implemented training programs for several industrial clients. She also has extensive experience in designing and implementing quality systems, conducting OOS/product failure investigations, auditing both laboratory and manufacturing functions (with special emphasis on sterile drug products), and reviewing/approving validation/qualification packages.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Joan held various management level positions in R&D, quality assurance and cGMP manufacturing, most recently serving as Associate Director of Quality Systems/Microbiology for SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline). Joan received a B.S. degree in microbiology from the State University of New York.
