Dr. Alex Kanarek received his BSc in microbiology with honors from Imperial College, University of London and his PhD in virology research from Cambridge University. He has been President of Bio-Development Consulting Services for the past 11 years. Based on more than 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with the Wellcome Foundation (now GlaxoSmithKline) in the UK and Connaught Laboratories (now Aventis Pasteur) in North America, his consultancy has specialized in technology transfer, biopharmaceutical product development and regulatory compliance in development and manufacturing laboratories.

Dr. Kanarek has written Guides to Good Laboratory Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Clinical Practice, Good Validation Practice and Good Design Practice for Regulatory-Compliant Facilities, all published by Drug and Market Development Publications, Inc. His popular drug development and regulatory compliance courses have been presented in-house at several major biopharmaceutical companies and he lectures on international GMP regulations to graduate students of the National University of Singapore’s Bioprocess Technology Institute.
