Developing and Writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
XAH216-040531
April 29-30, 2004
8:30 am-4:00 pm
Standard Operating Procedures, or SOPS, are the lifeblood of the bioscience industry. A SOP is a written procedure that all workers must follow when performing a routine laboratory or production task. SOPs ensure that tasks will be consistently performed. This course teaches trainees to plan, develop and ultimately write a standard operating procedure. Students will define a laboratory process, its associated requirements, and performance sequence. Then, using this information, students will create a SOP that can be used to execute the selected process in industrial bioscience settings.
