Plasmid DNA Isolation And Restriction Endonuclease Analysis
Isolation of plasmid DNA from bacterial cells is a vital step in recombinant DNA experiments. This module will teach students the principles of plasmid biology and familiarize them with state of the industry plasmid purification technology. Restriction enzyme analysis and plasmid mapping provide molecular biologist with important information regarding the recombinant DNA molecules that they study. This course will familiarize students with the salient features of restriction enzyme analysis and plasmid mapping. Hands-on laboratory experiments will be used to showcase plasmid isolation and characterization and restriction endonuclease mapping.
Students or employees who may benefit from this course include: laboratory technicians, chemists, research scientists, and others who need to understand the basic principles of plasmid isolation and characterization.
